Max takes Gloria to the Caribbean sun

On the 6th September 2010 Max Liberson embarked on an epic journey to the Caribbean on board Gloria a 45 foot Ferro cement schooner. In July 2009 I became the proud owner of a 45 foot Ferro cement schooner called Gloria. I was surprised. My offer of £1,500 was well short of the asking price. Welcome to Thurrock Yacht Club. We are located in Grays, Thurrock on the River Thames just to the east of the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge.

TYC was established in 1946 as a yacht club for the working man. Today we remain true to that principle, being one of the least expensive yacht clubs in the British Isles where anyone can enjoy sailing and motor boating. To keep our fees down our members volunteer their time and skills to run the club and bar, maintain the clubhouse and lay moorings.
