The Kay Lucas memorial cup race started with boats in hot contention lead by High Spirits first across the line. The tight pack followed close as they headed up towards the QE2 bridge. Out of sight the sailors used their knowledge of the River to gain positions and out class opponents. As the spinnakers came into sight on the return it was Cassie from EYC leading the pack to gain line honours in the race. Overall winner on handicap was TYC’s Socrates II skipped by Ron Smith andexpert crew Claire and John.
