The 4 Race London Rivers Travellers Trophy Series culminated in a wonderful day's racing at Erith Yacht Club on Saturday 17th October. Thurrock entered 6 yachts in the final stage, Avrio, Morning Song, Paka'a, Sarah, Socrates II and Teglyn. Cheered on by Thurrock well-wishers aboard Ajax, High Spirits, Linnet and Sequence our racers took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, against yachts from Erith, Gravesend and Greenwich. Avrio was 1st with Socrates II 2nd and the outsider Teglyn took 3rd place.

After a "bit of a party" aboard the supporter's yachts Erith hosted a lovely evening presentation with supper for everyone. Once the race trophies had been given, the series trophies, 3 beautiful shields, were also presented. The first was for the individual yacht with the best 3 scores from the 4 races - Avrio took this trophy as they had 3 firsts ( they discarded their second place!) which was a fantastic result. The second trophy was for the club with the 3 best boats and again we won (it was getting a little embarrassing now) for Avrio, Sarah and Socrates. The final trophy was for the club with the highest number of individual yacht entries into the series and this deservedly went to Erith.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all our LRTT series racers and thank you for winning so many trophies on behalf of us all at Thurrock Yacht Club.

The TYC Evening Presentation of the 2009 Season Racing Trophies will be held in the clubhouse on Thursday 26th November at 7-30PM
